Why choose a studio portraits over a location shoot?
Studio portraits have no distractions from the subject. All the focus is on the sitter’s personality. As a portrait photographer, my task is to draw out that personality and capture it in a single image.
The studio works well for single portraits or for groups of up to nine people. There is room for children to play, the portrait studio is not just for formal poses. You could even include the family pet.
It is important you feel at ease. I work beside the camera so the sitter responds to me rather than an intimidating lens. It seems to work! Our home studio is welcoming and unthreatening, which is an excellent start.
Before your studio portrait
We will send you a list of things to consider before you arrive. It includes how to co-ordinate the clothes in your group and how to choose styles that will enhance your face. We’re not telling you what to wear, just giving you the benefit of our experience.
When you arrive we will discuss carefully what you want out of the shoot and how you intend to display your portraits.
