On location – photos in the great outdoors

Studio photoshoots are a great way to record key events in your family’s history.  You might like a change, though, to add some variety to the photos on your walls and a colourful or interesting location might be perfect.

In Kent, we have a wide range of great locations.  The weather and surrounding countryside help to create different looks and moods for your photos, where family members can use the surroundings to display their personalities.

Spring photoshoots

Bluebells!  That is what spring suggests to me and they really do make an eye-catching scene in a photo.  The positivity and bright colours of the bluebells, daffodils and green shoots really can make people glow from within.

One Tree Hill near Sevenoaks is a stunning backdrop for creating some colourful and vibrant photos during the spring time.  Maybe you know of a local ‘host of golden daffodils’ or a cherry blossom tree that you could capture in a photo before they lose their blossom.

Summer photoshoots

The warmer weather creates more opportunities for time outside.  Why not have a summer family BBQ in the garden and combine it with a photo shoot?  Or perhaps you are getting together for a family picnic at the beach or park where you can all join in and have some photographs taken to remember the day?

Autumn photoshoots

The countryside this time of year looks fabulous with the trees turning to vibrant shades of brown, gold and green.  The fallen leaves are a great ‘prop’ for small children as they kick them, throw them, use them as a carpet in a woodland den – all of which looks fantastic in photos.

Think about where you may want to hang your photographs; you may want to pick out one of the colours from that setting.  We spend so much time making sure our home is colour coordinated so why not make sure your photographs are too!

Winter photoshoots

Maybe you are planning on getting together with the family during the Christmas holidays; you may also be meeting with family members you rarely see so this would be a great opportunity to all club together and have a family photo shoot.

Knole Park is a great location for a photoshoot whatever the time of year.  A frosty, bare-treed backdrop can look rather romantic and the subjects easily stand-out.  There are multiple backdrops you could use in your photos at Knole.

Whatever the season, family photos outside have energy and vibrancy, rosy cheeks and smiles.

The great outdoors provides an abundance of landscapes to allow you and your family to create engaging family memories and talking points for the years to come.
